    I got there a little late. We helped a new attendee (sorry, didn’t catch his name) with some color and typography issues. Andy Staple worked with his css file to make the type and the line-height bigger. We learned about Gravity Forms and Mailchimp plugins. We discussed the Oct. 20 WordCamp event.

    Monday, August 8th, 7:00pm Buffalo Lab 523 Main St, Buffalo, NY Probably one of the most important things in WordPress is security. WordPress is open-source, which is both a blessing and a curse when it comes to security.

    A couple of points brought up at the beginning of the meeting: Gravity forms is a great form plugin. The paypal addon is nice, but will set you back another $100. Nivo slider plugin is a good choice for slideshow plugins; it has a nice admin.

  • Backups Meetup summary

    We looked at some backup plugins. Backup to Dropbox looks promising. We also discussed how to get more members to come to the meetings. Surveys may be a good idea. In two weeks, we’ll hopefully discuss plugin development, with a basic tutorial on writing plugins for WordPress. Stay tuned!
